Confirmation

On the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit descended on Mary and the Apostles.  Jesus had promised them that the Holy Spirit would come to enable them to be witnesses to the ends of the earth.

In the Sacrament of Confirmation the same Spirit is received to complete our membership of Christ’s Body, the Church and to enable us to witness effectively to the Kingdom of God.

The sacrament is celebrated annually with neighbouring parishes in the deanery by the Bishop of Lancaster.  The period of preparation begins six months before the celebration of the sacrament and is led by a team of clergy and lay people.

If you wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation then please contact one of the priests of the parish.
